MYLOR BOAT HIRE

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING AND HIRE

These terms and conditions are in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our customers. 

We always take into account individual circumstances and welcome any questions of your requirements. 

 

Payment:

No booking can be regarded as confirmed until a deposit is received, the balance is due on the day of hire.

 

Restrictions: 

– An adult (18yrs or above) must be on board and responsible for the operation of the boat.

– Responsibility of a sailing vessel must be taken by a competent sailor, Mylor Boat Hire reserve the right to cancel your hire session if they feel you are likely to cause danger to any person, persons, or property.

 

Responsibilities:

You, the hirer, are in charge of the vessel and responsible for it, its equipment, it’s safe navigation and any persons on board. You must agree to comply at all times during the hire with the Rules of Navigation as explained to you by our staff and contained within the information provided onboard the boat. In the event of any accident or damage involving you or any other people, or any property you must inform us immediately, and obtain and record the name of any other boats and the names and addresses of any other people involved.

 

Returning the boat:

The boat must be returned to the same location from which it was hired, if you return the boat late then you will be liable to pay £30 for every hour. Should the boat be returned in a dirty or untidy state a cleaning charge of £30. 

 

Customer cancellation:

In the event of customer cancellation of the booking, the following monies will be returned;

Prior to four weeks of commencement date: Full Deposit

Less than four weeks of commencement date: Half of Deposit

Less than two weeks of commencement date: No refund

 

Cancellations by us: 

We reserve the right to cancel any of our hire boats at any point due to circumstances outside of our control. For example, adverse weather conditions, damage and mechanical breakdown. In this event, you will be given a full refund unless an alternative vessel or dates are available and agreed.

 

Adverse Weather: 

Mylor Boat Hire are licensed and insured for good weather conditions only, including the sea state and visibility, this must be adhered to. The decision whether or not to let hire boats out is always the responsibility of the Mylor Boat Hire staff on duty at the time.

 

Misbehavior: 

Anyone who, in the opinion of Mylor Boat Hire staff, is unfit for any hire session, or who behaves in such a way likely to cause danger to themselves, other customers and other water users will be excluded from hire sessions.  

 

Maximum Capacity and Limit of Operation for each vessel: 

We reserve the right to terminate hire at any time and repossess the boat if we have reason to believe you are not adhering to the following maximum capacity and limit of operation.

Motor Picarooner: 6 persons / St Anthony’s Lighthouse to Pendennis Castle / inside the times of sunrise and sunset

Sailing Picarooner: 6 persons / St Anthony’s Lighthouse to Pendennis Castle /inside the times of sunrise and sunset

Motor Launch: 10 persons / St Anthony’s Lighthouse to Pendennis Castle / inside the times of sunrise and sunset

Cornish Shrimper: 6 persons / St Anthony’s Lighthouse to Nare Point / inside the times of sunrise and sunset

Leisure 20: 6 persons / St Anthony’s Lighthouse to Nare Point / inside the times of sunrise and sunset

We reserve the right to alter the limit of operation at any time due to weather and sea conditions.

 

Liability: 

Mylor Boat Hire insures the boats against loss public liability but it will not be responsible to any loss, or damage, or injury to the hire party or possessions, howsoever caused. Hirer will be liable up to the first £250 of damage or loss to any vessel. The hirer uses the boat and engine at their own risk and Mylor Boat Hire accepts no liability for any damage, loss, or death as a result of any mechanical failure or breakdown of boat and or equipment.

 

Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs:

Smoking is strictly prohibited on any hire vessel and our pontoon where there is fuel. It is strictly prohibited to consume, be under the influence of, or to be in the possession of any alcohol and drugs whilst engaged in any activity relating to your hire session.

 

Confirmation:

By confirming your booking with a deposit or signing for responsibility of the boat you confirm that you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
